A Year in Review and a Future to Look Forward To

As we close out 2023 and look toward 2024, we thought we would take the opportunity to reflect on what has been a challenging but productive year for Ramar Contractors Inc. and the construction industry as a whole. The industry saw pressures stemming from rising costs due to financing rates, material and labour increases, to delays caused by supply chain challenges and labour shortages. While some of these pressures have begun to stabilize towards the latter half of 2023, others remain uncertain and will continue to present challenges in 2024.

Despite these challenges, the outlook for 2024 remains positive with companies returning to office, rising housing demand, and federally funded infrastructure and manufacturing projects. The industry will undergo significant evolution in 2024 to adapt to working through a complex operating environment.

Ramar is fortunate to have had a busy 2023, and here is a highlight of some of the projects we completed this year:

  • 30 Bett Crt – Complete site servicing of a 3 phase commercial office/laboratory development, construction of 14,000 sq ft Phase 1 basebuilding and 2800 sq ft interior fit out.
  • 574 Hanlon Creek Blvd Addition – Completion of 11,000 sq ft commercial office/laboratory addition to our building in the Hanlon Creek Business Park.
  • Whichcraft Bar – Completion of interior renovations for a trendy new bar and restaurant in downtown Guelph.

Thank you to all of our clients and trade partners for a successful 2023 and we look forward to a productive 2024. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours.
